DESIGN & ENGINEERING

Preliminary Project Investigation

Meet with the customer/owner and other principals to determine the customer’s needs and develop the project scope.  Prepare Project Data Sheet and/or other resources to assist in reaching agreement on project scope.

Prepare a response to the customer’s request for proposal that meets all elements of the project scope with value added options.

Computation Manual or Notebook

Provide project calculations and formulas for all elements of design and engineering.

Construction Plans and Details

Once agreement has been reached on project scope and/or contract awarded, develop process and instrument detail drawings, construction plans and details.

Technical Specifications including Special Provisions

Use project drawings and “Project Data Sheet” to develop the basis for Technical Specifications.  Technical Specifications shall be used to obtain quotations for all equipment, materials, and subcontractor services.

Preliminary Construction Cost Estimate

Once 60% plans are completed, meet with customer for review and approval.   Coordinate issues with the customer that may impact the Preliminary Construction Cost Estimate.

Bid Schedule or Tabulation of Quantities and Measurement and Payment

If the customer wishes to advertise for subcontractor services or equipment bids, SEDSCO will develop a Bid Schedule, develop RFP scope, conduct pre-bid meetings, and assist the customer with the evaluation of proposals.

Final Construction Cost Estimate

Once project plans are finalized, SEDSCO will meet with customer for review and final approval.  Coordination issues with customer and other affected parties that may impact the Final Construction Cost Estimate are reviewed and appropriate changes made to project documents.

Construction/Job Book Development

Develop project Job Book to be used by Construction Manager and/or Project Inspector for documenting critical project data.  This would include:

  • Collecting material receivers for all equipment, fittings, and materials used to transport natural gas.  The data must be maintained by owner for the life of the facility.

  • Welding related items such as Welding Procedures, Welder Qualifications, and nondestructive test results.

  • Hydrostatic test results on all piping used to transport natural gas.

  • Concrete, Soil Density, and other tests that may be critical to the construction of the facility.

Project Administration

Provide all forms for documenting on site inspections, daily progress reports, review materials and test data to ensure compliance with project specifications. Review contractor and supplier invoices to ensure scope of work completion prior to recommending that the customer process the invoice for payment.  Develop punch list with owner prior to final payment to project suppliers and contractors.  Assist owner with the commissioning of the facility.  Complete as constructed drawings and other project closeout items.

Project Inspection

In the event that the customer does not provide an inspector for the project, SEDSCO is prepared to provide these services.
